Brandt Snedeker needed multiple attempts to get his ball back to safely after playing from the water at the Honda Classic

Trying to play out of the water hazard can be a tempting option, but Brandt Snedeker found out it does not always go to plan during the opening round of the Honda Classic.

Snedeker made a slow start in breezy conditions at PGA National and was one over for his round when he made his way to the par-three 17th, where his tee shot finished short of the bank and into the water.

Rather than heading to the drop zone and having an easier shot into the green, Snedeker elected for the braver option by sticking on his waterproof trousers and wading in to the hazard.

Snedeker's first attempt popped in to the air, bouncing off the slope and dropping back in to the water, before his second effort delivered a similar result.

After taking time to compose himself, the American pitched to the top of the bank at the third time of asking and two-putted from the fringe to rack up an ugly triple-bogey six.
