Ted Potter Jr. came through a final-round tussle with Dustin Johnson to claim a three-stroke win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The 34-year-old threatened a sub-60 round during the third round and continued his impressive play on Sunday, posting a three-under 69 to secure a first PGA Tour victory since 2012.
Four birdies in a six-hole stretch on the front nine lifted Potter ahead of playing partner Johnson, who picked up a shot at the par-five last to close a level-par 72 and grab a share of second.
Johnson was joined on 14 under by Phil Mickelson, Chez Reavie and Jason Day, with Kevin Streelman a further stroke back following a four-under 68.
Potter briefly lost his overnight advantage when he three-putted from 25 feet at the first, only to match Johnson's birdie at the par-five next and then hole from six feet to birdie the fourth.
The world No 246 claimed the outright lead for the first time when Johnson found water off the fifth tee on his way to a bogey, before the pair exchanged two-putt birdies at the par-five sixth.
Potter doubled his lead with a chip-in birdie from off the seventh green, as Reavie posted back-to-back gains from the eighth to reach the turn in 31 and join Johnson on 15 under.
Johnson slipped further adrift when he failed to get up-and-down from a greenside bunker at the eighth and missed from six feet to save par at the 11th, as Potter reached the turn two ahead.
Reavie increased Potter's cushion when he bogeyed the par-five 14th to slip back alongside Troy Merritt, with Johnson rolling in from five feet at the 13th to make it a three-way tie for second.
Johnson's hopes faded with a missed par-save from seven feet at the 15th, as Potter produced a string of impressive pars along a blemish-free back nine before closing victory with a two-putt par.
Mickelson birdied three of his final five holes to get to 14 under, with Johnson nudging in from three feet at the 18th and Day recovering from finding the beach at the par-five last to save par and also finish three off the pace.
Defending champion Jordan Spieth ended the week in a share of 20th, with Jon Rahm a further shot back after an erratic final-round 76.
