Justin Timberlake is a notable absentee from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am, a year on from lighting up the fairways and producing one of the shots of the tournament.

Timberlake is a regular in the PGA Tour event but sits out of the 2018 contest after headlining the half-time show at Sunday's Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis, where the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots.

The global superstar appeared alongside Justin Rose during the 2017 showdown in California, where he demonstrated how his talents go far further than the stage and studio.

Not only did Timberlake hole a chip shot from off the green and drain a string of putts to help the team progress through to Sunday's final round, he came all-so close to a magical moment on one of golf's iconic holes.

He pulled a wedge from his bag at the par-three seventh and came inches away from firing a hole-in-one, seeing his ball spin back to a from the cup to leave a kick-in birdie.

Timberlake has been seen doing the "Carlton dance" with Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro on multiple occasions during his Pebble Beach visits over the years, where he also revealed himself as a Sky Sports fan during an interview with Tim Barter.
