Joost Luiten's amazing albatross in the second round of the Andalucia Valderrama Masters was only the third in competition at the iconic Spanish venue.
You have to go back to the Volvo Masters of 1994 to remember the first, when a "pre-ponytail" Miguel Angel Jimenez sent the home fans surrounding the famous 17th green into raptures when he holed his second to the par-five.
The achievement was matched 13 years later at the same hole, when Graeme McDowell hit a bold second from just off the fairway and his aggressive approach paid off when his ball pitched softly in the front bank, bounded onto the green and took the right-to-left break to find the cup.
Bizarrely, both Jimenez and McDowell went on to finish in a tie for fourth, with both being two strokes behind the eventual champion (Bernhard Langer in 1994, Justin Rose in 2007).
And the 1997 Ryder Cup venue has now witnessed a third two at a par-five, with Luiten's perfect four-iron finding the target from close-to 230 yards at the long 11th.
