Golfing great Gary Player says the Presidents Cup is a competition which is a "growing in leaps and bounds" and thinks it should be hosted in China in the future.
The match pits a USA team against an International team and this year it will be held at Liberty National in New Jersey.
The United States are hot favourites to win the event for the seventh time in a row but Player is excited about the eclectic composition of the International side.
"The President's Cup is growing in leaps and bounds," said the South African legend, who won nine majors during his superb career and has captained the International team himself on three previous occasions.
"Here in New York is a wonderful spot to have it, seeing the Statue of Liberty from the golf course, this great emblem of freedom.
"The fascinating thing is to see how international golf is on the rise. Our team of 12 competitors includes eight different countries, and that for me is just marvellous.
"I would love to see this event be played in China next time because China are on the move.
"They are winning medals (Shanshan Feng won bronze at the Rio Olympics), we had Mr Li (Haotong), who finished third in the greatest championship in the world, the British Open.
"And then we had Guan (Tianlang), at the age of 14, the most remarkable thing I ever saw, in my 64 years as a pro, making the cut at Augusta (in 2013) with a penalty of one stroke (for slow play), and the next week he went to New Orleans on the regular tour and made the cut again.
"I have never seen anything that compares to that, so China would be the right spot to go, to promote the game."
Player admits the USA team deserve to be favourites this year but says the sweetest swinger in either side is one of his fellow countrymen.
"Nicky Price and his team have a monumental task this week because the American team is awfully tough," said Player.
"The best golf swing in the world today is Louis Oosthuizen. I am not saying he is the best golfer but he has the best swing.
"Then you have Charl Schwartzel, so we have a few South Africans in there!"
