The four-time major champion was a late addition to the field at Close House, featured alongside Masters champion Sergio Garcia and tournament host Lee Westwood in the event where he made his professional debut a decade ago.

Fresh from his appearance in the Wednesday Pro-am, McIlroy joined Nick Dougherty and Tim Barter in the Sky Zone by the range to go through some of the strengths of his iron play.

The world No 6 revealed his swing routine and the thought process he undertakes when playing a shot, as well as sharing some of his advice on how to improve distance and accuracy with your irons.
