Rory McIlroy demonstrated his footballing talent as he responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s skills challenge on social media.
The four-time major champion and former world No 1 has battled form and injury during a winless campaign, but showed his sporting talent goes much further than the golf course.
Ronaldo launched his challenge on Instagram as part of a promotion of his new fragrance line, where he nominated McIlroy and a number of high-profile figures to show off their football skills.
Manchester United fan McIlroy, who missed The Open in 2015 after injuring his ankle playing football, duly accepted the challenge and revealed some impressive flicks and tricks in his video.
McIlroy then called out a number of big-name golfers to compete in the #CR7Challenge, with 14-time major champion Tiger Woods, PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas and former world No 1 Luke Donald among those asked to take part.
