Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods headlined the plaudits for Jordan Spieth after the American won The Open at Royal Birkdale.
Spieth secured a three-shot victory over Matt Kuchar after an absorbing final-round duel.
Nicklaus, an 18-time major winner, along with 14-time major winner Woods were quick to voice their praise for Spieth once he had secured the Claret Jug in determined fashion.
Spieth, who joins a select number of golfers to have won three legs of the modern era career grand slam, will now be determined to join a prestigious list of only five golfers, which include Nicklaus and Woods, to have won all four majors.

Spieth saw his three-shot overnight lead reduced to nothing after bogeying three of the first four holes of his final round. His front nine consisted of mixing four bogeys with one birdie, but he managed to recover and card a final round of one-under 69.
His back nine, which included an incident-packed 13th hole, was spectacular and included a birdie-eagle-birdie-birdie run over four consecutive holes starting at the 14th to help him regain his tournament lead before closing out in composed fashion at the 18th.
Close friend and fellow PGA Tour professional, Justin Thomas, and Niall Horan were other notable names to voice their praise.
