Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith go four clear at the Zurich Classic

Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith take a four-shot lead in to the final round of the new-look Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

The pair continued their bogey-free week with a four-under 68 in the foursomes format at a blustery TPC Louisiana, extending their overnight advantage.

Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown posted a round-of-the-day 67 to grab a share of second spot alongside Charley Hoffman and Nick Watney, with Jordan Spieth and Ryan Palmer a further stroke back.

Patrick Reed and Patrick Cantlay headed in to the weekend one off the pace but lost ground with a double-bogey at the second, where Smith tapped in for a birdie to move them three clear.

Blixt then drained an 18-footer at the fourth to briefly go four ahead, with a run of 11 pars halted with a close-range gain from Smith at the 15th.

The Australian then holed a 15-foot gain at the last to maintain their blemish-free card, with Kisner and Brown surging up the leaderboard with five birdies in a seven-hole stretch along the back nine.

Reed and Cantlay failed to register a birdie after the turn on their way to a three-over 75, leaving them one of seven teams on 11 under.

Fresh from finding out he had retained his PGA Tour card, Ian Poulter and playing partner Geoff Ogilvy posted a one under to sit in a share of 15th spot

The threat of bad weather has seen Sunday's tee times brought forward, with the fourball format beginning at 6.40am local time (12.40pm BST).
