Relive Bob Tway's record-breaking 12 at TPC Sawgrass' par-three 17th during the 2005 Players Championship.

We continue our countdown of iconic moments at golf's "fifth major" by remembering when Bob Tway set an unwanted record during the third round in 2005.

The former PGA champion went into the weekend just four strokes off the pace at TPC Sawgrass, only to see his hopes slip away in spectacular fashion at the par-three 17th.

Tway sent his opening tee shot long and into the water at the back of the island green, before clearing the dancefloor and finding the hazard with his next effort from the drop zone.

With strong gusts around the hole, Tway saw his next two shots come up short and needed a fifth attempt just to find dry land.

Still 40-feet away from the flag, Tway then three putted to sign for a 12 - the worst recorded score on the hole in Players Championship history!
