Brett Rumford claimed a sixth European Tour title with victory on home soil at the inaugural ISPS World Super 6 Perth.
The 39-year-old finished five shots clear of the rest of the field after the 54-hole stroke play format, before winning all four of his matches in the new six-hole match-play format on Sunday.
After receiving a bye through to the last 16, Rumford followed a 2&1 victory over Japan's Hideto Tanihara 2&1 with wins against home pair Wade Ormsby and Adam Bland.
The Australian then defeated Thai teenager Phachara Khongwatmai 2&1 in the final at Lake Karrinyup Country Club, re-securing him the European Tour playing card he lost last season.
"It's amazing, particularly being a new format and the first winner of that," Rumford said. "It has been a long, hard-fought week."
Rumford stiffed his approach at the first to claim the opening hole of the final, but conceded the next after spraying his tee shot wide of the fairway and only getting within 20 feet with his chip.
The pair halved the next hole, before Rumford pitched out from the trees at the fourth and drained a 15-footer to move ahead.
The home favourite then completed victory by firing his tee shot to within three feet of the fifth flag, as Khongwatmai found the greenside bunker and took two attempts to get out.
Bland claimed third spot after beating Jason Scrivener 1up in their play-off, with pre-tournament favourite Louis Oosthuizen taking fifth place after seeing off Steven Jeffress.
Oosthuizen had earlier needed three birdie at the shoot-out hole to defeat Johannes Veerman, before losing to Bland in the quarter-finals.
