Phil Mickelson shows off his incredible short-game talent once again with an exquisite flop shot to save par at Torrey Pines

Phil Mickelson has compiled a lengthy highlights reel of incredible shots from around the green over his stellar career, and he added to it with an unlikely par-saving flop-shot at Torrey Pines.

Mickelson looked certain to drop his second shot in a row when he dumped his tee shot to the par-three eighth on the North Course into thick rough, leaving himself short-sided and with a bunker in between his ball and the pin.

The veteran left-hander had little green to work with, and what there was sloped away from him, but he took out his 64-degree lob wedge and set himself up for a trademark flop shot from the long, wet, tangly grass.

Despite the immense level of difficulty, Mickelson - not for the first time - made the shot look easy as he took a full swing and slid the clubface under his ball to send it airbourne at a seemingly impossible angle.

And he judged it perfectly, nodding to the fans as his ball landed softly on the green before trickling towards the hole and setting up a mere tap-in for his par.
