There were a record nine holes in one during the Par 3 competition on the eve of the 80th Masters, but there was almost a spectacular 10th ace on the final hole.
It is traditional for many player to let their caddies strike a tee shot on the ninth tee, although most fail to clear the vast expanse of water let alone get close to the front pin location.
But the young man on the bag of 2003 champion Mike Weir came agonisingly close to holing his well-struck iron, his ball catching the slope beyond the pin and rolling slowly towards the cup before pulling up just an inch short.
