Ryan Moore hit the second hole-in-one on the 16th hole of the Northern Trust Open this week

Ryan Moore equalled his best finish of the season at the Northern Trust Open, but had one shot in particular to thank for breaking in to the top 10 at Riviera.

Moore made a fast start to his final round with three consecutive birdies, but reached the 16th back at level par for the day following back-to-back blemishes from the 12th.

The American tackled the 163-yard par-3 with a seven-iron, but was handed a huge slice of luck when his tee shot appeared to be missing the green.

After taking a couple of bounces off the fringe protecting the greenside bunker, Moore's ball drifted down the short slope and rolled in to the cup.

The hole-in-one was the second of the week following Tyrone Van Aswegen's ace at the previous hole a day earlier, taking the season total on the PGA Tour to 13.
