Danny Willett had a huge slice of luck as his shot looked destined for the water, only for it to hit a rock and bounce back out!

Danny Willett sits four shots off the pace after the opening round of the Dubai Desert Classic, but had one moment of fortune to thank for not finishing further down the leaderboard.

Last year's Race to Dubai runner-up dropped three shots in a two-hole stretch late on to close a two-under 70, but got extremely lucky after a wayward approach earlier in his round.

Having birdied two of his opening three holes from the back nine, Willett's hopes of picking up a third shot of the day seemed unlikely when his second shot into the par-five 13th appeared to be heading towards the hazard.

The ball makes a clear splash as it hits the water, only for it to somehow find its way back on dry land and leave a lengthy two-putt for another gain.
