Grace was three over after ten holes at Glendower GC, before the threat of thunderstorms for the third afternoon running saw play suspended with only three of the 68 players having completed their third round.

Resuming joint-leader alongside compatriot Keith Horne, Grace finished his second round with back-to-back bogeys to slip two strokes behind midway pacesetter Brooks, who posted a hat-trick of birdies around the turn on his way to a 67.

Brooks temporarily moved two clear by opening round three with a gain, but lost ground with a wayward drive and blemish at the fifth as Stone's front-nine 33 moved him level with the Englishman.

A two-putt birdie at the eighth briefly restored Brooks' advantage, only for Stone to also get to 10 under by holing a 12 footer at the 11th just before the horn was sounded.

Horne sits third on eight under, with South African duo Chris Swanepoel and Christiaan Bezuidenhout a further shot off the pace.
