Watch the moment Jordan Spieth threw away the lead at the 12th hole during the final round

Jordan Spieth appeared on course to secure back-to-back Masters titles, only to see his disappear with a dramatic collapse along Augusta's back nine.

The defending champion bounced back from a blemish at the fifth to reel off a run of four consecutive birdies and reach the turn with a five-stroke lead, but opened the door for the chasing back with dropped shots at 10 and 11.

Spieth's seven-and-a-half round stint as Masters leader was under threat when the world No 2 misjudged his approach in to the par-three 12th and ended up in Rae's Creek, but worse was to follow after taking his penalty drop.

A chunked chip found the water for a second time, while his next attempt - his fifth shot - missed the green and ended up in the greenside bunker.

Although Spieth recovered to get up-and-down and hole his six-foot putt to card a quadruple-bogey seven, his errors saw him slide down the leaderboard and hand Danny Willett the advantage as the Englishman went on to claim Masters victory.
