Chelsea youngster Kurt Zouma says he is keen to emulate fellow Frenchman Marcel Desailly in becoming one of the club's greatest defenders.
Zouma, 20, has broken into Jose Mourinho's first team this season and the Blues manager recently compared him to Desailly - the now retired France international who played 211 times for the club.
Centre-back Zouma impressed in an unfamiliar defensive-midfield position in Sunday's Capital One Cup triumph over Tottenham and he admits he is prepared to play anywhere to help the team.
"What the boss said, that I could be like Desailly, is a lovely thing," he said.
"But it is too early to say that because Marcel is a legend of Chelsea and I have only played 10 games and I am 20 years old. I have to improve.
"Marcel is one of my idols. I loved to watch him play when I was younger. He was an amazing performer and important for Chelsea. To be like him I have to keep working hard.
"I have never met him but one day I hope I will. I was just happy to play in that team yesterday. Everyone wants to win titles. I am so happy.
"I am a centre-back but if the manager said to me that I have to play centre-back, left-back, striker or even goalkeeper then I would play there because i want to help the team."
