Goalkeeping heroics earns a share of the spoils

Barnet goalkeeper Jake Cole was in inspirational form as his side made it five games unbeaten with a 1-1 draw at Aldershot. The Bees had taken an early lead through Michael Leary but it was one-way traffic after Lewis Chalmers equalised for Aldershot, with the hosts laying siege on the Barnet goal. Cole produced excellent saves to deny Anthony Straker and somehow kept out Kirk Hudson's stinging drive. And Cole saved his best for last, diving full-length to keep out Hudson, who was clean through on goal with just six minutes left on the clock. It was Barnet who started the brighter and they took the lead with their first real opportunity as Leary drilled his low drive home from the edge of the box after four minutes. Chalmers gave the Shots their equaliser five minutes into the second half when he pounced on the loose ball for his first goal of the season. It was all Aldershot from then on but they could not find a way past Cole.
