Team Sky rider Geraint Thomas will return to action after a fractured collarbone at the OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
Race organisers announced that Thomas will take part in the Tour of Britain, which begins on September 3 and concludes in Cardiff on September 10 and will be joined by fellow Welshman and Team Sky rider Owain Doull.
The 31-year-old won the opening time-trial of the Tour de France on July 1 to take the race leader's yellow jersey for the first time in his career.
It was a welcome response after he had been forced to abandon May's Giro d'Italia following a crash, but then Thomas had to quit the Tour with a fractured collarbone.
Thomas, who is from Cardiff, said: "It's always great to be able to race in front of home fans, so I'm really looking forward to the Tour of Britain.
"I haven't had the chance to race at home much in recent years, but the atmosphere at London 2012, then at the home stages of the Tour de France and Commonwealth Games in 2014, has always stayed with me."
Thomas won gold in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow three years ago and is a two-time Olympic champion in the team pursuit, in 2008 and 2012. Doull won Olympic gold in the same event in Rio in 2016.
The 24-year-old finished third overall in the Tour of Britain in 2015.
