Brown knows he must lift Dons

Manager Terry Brown blasted the performance of referee Brendan Malone after his 10-man Wimbledon side lost 2-1 to Rochdale.

Dele Adebola's early header and Bobby Grant's tidy finish put Rochdale two goals up at the break against their struggling hosts, who saw Midson dismissed after 24 minutes. Luke Moore pulled a goal back for the Dons late on but it was not enough to complete his side's fight back. And while unhappy with the role Grant played in Midson's sending off, Brown insisted his striker must learn to control his emotions and admitted his own future was now in question. "It was a major blow to have Jack sent off, regardless of the fact their player was embarrassing as he dived and fell about," said Brown. "But if you push someone, then you deserve to get sent off. I haven't got a problem with the referee in that decision, if you raise your hand you're going to get done. It's not the first time Jack's done that - he has to learn. "I thought the referee had a pretty awful game. I think it's the worst officiating I've ever seen. It's going to sound like sour grapes because we lost the game and I am a little bit annoyed. I can't believe he gave one decision with his back to play, which makes you think he's pretty clever because he can give decision without looking at them. He was cleverer than his performance looked." Brown added: "There's enormous pressure on my shoulders, no doubt about that. What I needed was a performance but at the end of the day, if the results don't turn and change, I'll have to move on - that's a fact of the game."
