Paul Peschisolido says a lack of killer instinct prevented Burton from ousting Sheffield United from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
Justin Richards gave Albion the lead but the visitors hit back to clinch a second-round place through David McAllister and Norwegian substitute Erik Tonne. "We're killing ourselves in a way," said Peschisolido. "It's okay playing fine and expansive attacking football but if you don't put the goals away, you're always susceptible to finding yourselves under pressure. "I thought we could gave buried them in the first half because we looked so dangerous but we just lacked that final killer instinct. But, overall, I thought our play was excellent at times. "They're near the top of League One but we didn't look out of our depth by any stretch of the imagination. "In fact, I thought we were the better side but we got caught napping on their first goal and the keeper [Ross Atkins] knows he should have prevented the second."
