Roy Hodgson insists Leicester's remarkable Premier League title triumph gives England belief they can pull off a similar shock and win Euro 2016.

As the Foxes celebrated a first ever top-flight title in their 132-year history in-front of hundreds of thousands of supporters in the city centre on Monday, Hodgson named his 26-man provisional squad for the summer tournament.

The England manager was careful not to make predictions on how far his side can go in the new expanded 24-team format, but said they have to dream of going all the way.

Hodgson has picked a larger provisional squad for the upcoming friendlies

"I don't want the players to be fearful, I don't want the players to be weighed down by expectations or thoughts of what might happen if they don't succeed," he said.

"We've seen this year the example with Leicester City: weeks and weeks, turning into months and months, of how long can this last? Is it all going to crack up? Can you really make the Champions League? Can you finish above this team or that team? Can you win the league?

"Each time what they've done is work hard, try hard and tried to make certain going into each game they're capable of winning it. That's all we can do as well.

"It's happened in the past. Nobody expected Denmark to win it in '92; nobody expected Greece to win the Euros (in 2004); no one expected Leicester to win the league.

"Everyone has got to have that hope, that dream, that thought of 'who knows?'. If we play really well, do our best and produce the type of football we can produce, which we've shown in quite a few games recently, who knows where that will lead us?"
