Liverpool beat Spurs 2-0 in the Champions League final, but who shone in the final and who had a game to forget? Our ratings are here...
Alisson - 8
It took 73 minutes for Tottenham to test Alisson with their first shot on target, but the Brazilian stood strong in the final quarter of an hour as Spurs threw the kitchen sink at Liverpool. A sad irony for Loris Karius that this goalkeeper's performance played a major part in Liverpool's sixth Champions League win after their heartbreak last year.
"He makes difficult things look easy," Jurgen Klopp said at full-time of Alisson as he reflected on his eight saves.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7
Got forward well down the Liverpool right with the ball, and spent his time without it doing well to keep Son relatively quiet. Put in some nice deliveries in open play but his corners were generally disappointing. The defender's meteoric rise continued with victory - as he became the first Under-21 in history to start back-to-back finals.
Joel Matip - 7
Continued to demonstrate his rise at Liverpool with another assured performance, showing plenty of strength at the back even if Spurs didn't really test him anywhere near as much as they would have liked. Showed great persistence to keep the ball alive in the build-up to Liverpool's second.
Virgil van Dijk - 8
Coolness personified as usual. Rarely put a foot wrong across the 90 minutes outmuscling and out-thinking the Spurs forwards when called upon. No player has now managed to complete a dribble beyond Van Dijk in any of his 50 appearances for Liverpool this season.
Andy Robertson - 8
One of few bright sparks in either camp before half-time, full of running at Kieran Trippier and coming close to scoring his first goal of the season after a rare foray inside.
Fabinho - 7
Generally held his position very well while Tottenham controlled possession, shielding his back four very well.
Georginio Wijnaldum - 6
Quiet in possession after his heroics against Barcelona last time out, but steady out of it. Hooked with half an hour to go as Liverpool looked to Milner's experience.
Jordan Henderson - 7
Solid without the ball and did relatively well getting Liverpool on the front foot going forward after half-time, having not seen enough of it before the break.
Mo Salah - 7
Unusually quiet before the break but improved after it, and could have doubled Liverpool's lead had Vertonghen not blocked his goal-bound effort not long into the second period. Not the most convincing penalty to put them in front - but they all count, and netted the second-fastest Champions League final goal in the process.
Roberto Firmino - 4
It was no surprise the Brazilian started in attack after three games out injured, as he had always been expected to recover in time for the final, but he looked well off the pace. Couldn't get his foot on the ball and feed his partners in the front three as he has done so much and was replaced 13 minutes into the second half.
Sadio Mane - 7
Drifted in and out of the game but had a telling contribution inside 30 seconds, winning a penalty when his cross was hand-balled by Sissoko - and he may well have known where he was putting the ball. Saw more of the ball after half-time.
Substitutes
Divock Origi (for Firmino, 58) - 7
His clinical finish and third Champions League goal from as many shots this season put the game beyond Spurs three minutes from time.
James Milner (for Wijnaldum, 62) - 7
Solid off the bench as Jurgen Klopp opted for experience, and was a whisker away from getting on the score sheet when his shot from the edge of the area flashed wide.
Joe Gomez (for Mane, 90) - n/a
Hugo Lloris - 6
Could do little about either Liverpool goal and stood up well to the pressure Liverpool tried to put him under by crowding him at corners, so much so they gave up the tactic before half-time.
Kieran Trippier - 6
Struggled at times against Mane, had plenty of the ball in the final third down the right flank in the second half but didn't do anywhere near enough with it.
Toby Alderweireld - 7
Displayed his impressive long-range passing at times as Tottenham looked to play more direct, and was defensively stout without the ball.
Jan Vertonghen - 7
Made a good block from Salah's effort after half-time and kept the Liverpool man generally quiet on the night, combining with Alderweireld to keep Lloris' goal relatively untroubled.
Danny Rose - 6
Made one excellent defensive header before the break but, like Trippier on the other side, did not provide enough going forward despite having plenty of the ball in the final third.
Harry Winks - 7
Unlucky to get replaced after an impressive performance in his first game in almost two months, but may have been tiring after sitting deep in Spurs' midfield and looking to drive forward when they got the ball.
Moussa Sissoko - 5
Conceded a harsh penalty inside 30 seconds, which was cruel and clearly unintentional, but did have his arm up and in an unconventional position so gave the referee a decision to make. A couple of bustling runs threatened an improved performance but he never really recovered.
Dele Alli - 4
Guilty of being especially wasteful in possession, always happy to get on the ball but produced little with it. Summed up a difficult night when he tried to chip Alisson when the goalkeeper was on his line.
Christian Eriksen - 6
Looked impressive in parts, playing a few nice balls through midfield but wasted an opportunity from the edge of the area before half-time that you at least expected him to test Alisson with. Influenced the game even less when moved back to accommodate Moura, bar one late effort from a free-kick.
Heung-Min Son - 6
Not himself for large parts of the game, drifted in and out from wide areas and showed his typical impressive close control at times, but not enough.
Harry Kane - 4
The questions over Kane's fitness weren't helped by the returning Spurs forward touching the ball five times in the opening half hour. Spurs' midfielders struggled to feed their hot-shot forward, but he did little to help himself get into the game either. Had only five touches in the opening half-hour, 26 across the 90 minutes and a solitary shot.
Substitutes
Lucas Moura (for Winks, 66) - 5
Unlucky not to start, but didn't do enough once he did come on. Ran around a lot but didn't really affect the game. Had one shot but otherwise ineffective.
Eric Dier (for Sissoko, 74) - 5
An odd substitution given Spurs' need of a goal, and did little to aid it. Slightly caught out for Liverpool's late second with a poor clearing header.
