Marseille kept their hopes of Champions League qualification alive after a late comeback saw them beat Monaco 2-1 in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Joao Moutinho put Monaco ahead inside the opening minute but Andre Ayew levelled with 10 minutes to go before Romain Alessandrini won it for Marseille with three minutes remaining.

This win sends Marseille back into fourth place, just two points behind their opponents of the night.

St Etienne strengthened their grip on European qualification by hammering Nice 5-0 at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

Loic Perrin and Jeremy Clement kicked off the rout in the first half, before the floodgates opened with Mevlut Erding, Max Gradel and Kevin Monnet-Paquet adding gloss to the scoreline.

The result moves Les Verts up to fourth in the standings with two games to go, while Nice remain 15th and need two points to secure survival.

A stoppage-time winner from Anthony Mounier was enough to give Montpellier a 1-0 win over 10-man Lens and keep alive their Europa League hopes.

The result means the visitors are just three points behind Bordeaux, with the two sides due to face each other on the final day of the season in what could be a decider for a final European spot.
