AFC Wimbledon defender Callum McNaughton is targeting a return to first-team action before the end of October.
The former West Ham centre-back has been occupying the sidelines for six months with an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury. However, the 20-year-old has stepped up his recuperation with fitness coach Jason Moriarty and is making good progress. "It is a great feeling to nearly be back now after such a long time out," McNaughton said. "I just have to keep working hard and clear the final hurdle, but it is looking promising. "I have recovered well so far after six months out and if I keep it up then hopefully I will be back very soon. I have been passed over to Jason recently to do more twisting and turning so that I can get a lot sharper. "I am getting a lot fitter now. I have been kicking a ball for a while now and I am doing things more naturally."
