Eddie Howe called the Boxing Day draw with West Ham "a mixture of emotions" after a late controversial goal from Callum Wilson sealed a point.
Bournemouth were leading for much of the season half, but two late Marko Arnautovic goals - scored after mistakes from Asmir Begovic - saw them trailing 3-2, but were able to level things up during added time in unusual circumstances.
Although there were many controversial moments, Howe was pleased with the performance of his side overall and believes they should have scored more.
"I don't know where to start. A total mixture of emotions and I felt like the game was ours at 2-1, we had so many chances to make it three and put it to bed but we didn't take them," he told Sky Sports.
"Then we find ourselves 3-2 down and the lads did really well to get a point in the end. I'm very pleased with how we played today, we were much more like ourselves with a lot of goal-mouth action and a lot of shots. I think we could have scored five or six today.
"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb [after James Collins' seventh minute goal]. We talked about our game plan and what we wanted to do and that was certainly the furthest thing from our minds.
"It gave us a long way to get back into the match but I thought the players were excellent in their response to it and for the majority of the game, I was ever so pleased with the performance."
Controversy reigned as Wilson's 93rd minute goal - which also appeared to hit his hand - was initially ruled out for offside by the linesman, but the decision was eventually overturned by referee Bobby Madley to see the game end in a 3-3 draw.
While Howe was pleased to see the equaliser given in Bournemouth's favour, he did admit that he had not seen the incident back.
"I haven't seen it again and I really don't know [what happened]. I'm not quite sure if they thought it was offside or what the situation was but I was very thankful to see the goal given," he added.
"I've got no big opinion of it, but I was pleased to see it go in. I saw the flag and the longer the linesman and referee talked, I didn't think it would be given but I was delighted to see it.
"It was more than we deserved. I thought we were excellent and we should have won the game."
