Swindon defeated Brentford 1-0 to record their first win in 19 games and give their survival hopes a boost.
Striker Calvin Andrew's 80th-minute strike was the difference between two shot-shy sides in a game that looked set to drift towards a bore draw. He capitalised on a Robbie Neilson blunder to turn and lash the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Three minutes later Andrew went close to giving the scoreline a more emphatic look when his dipping drive bounced to safety off the Bees' crossbar. Brentford rarely threatened in front of goal, their closest effort coming after nine minutes when Jeffrey Schlupp side-footed wide with the goal gaping after a neat Gary Alexander through-ball. Brentford's only effort on target was Sam Saunders' free-kick just after the hour mark which was easily saved by Robins keeper Phil Smith.
