Roy Hodgson hailed his Crystal Palace side's fighting spirit to rally and grab a last-gasp draw with West Ham.
Palace came back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Slaven Bilic's side in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon thanks to Wilfried Zaha's last-gasp equaliser six minutes into injury time.
The draw means Palace are still bottom of the table and now have four points. But Hodgson was impressed by the manner his team came back to secure a much-needed result against West Ham.
"Andros Townsend got us the penalty and Zaha got us the equalising goal, they are a thaw in the sides of any opponents we come across, but I have to say I can't ask anymore from this group of players," he told Sky Sports after the game.
"We were wounded still, to lose James McArthur, and Bakary Sako [to a minor knock] who has been doing very well for us. To lose Patrick van Aanholt ten minutes into the game, I thought things were contriving against us but luckily we got the minimum we deserved."
Hodgson also praised the contribution of the crowd, who the former England manager believes helped the team forge the necessary motivation to mount a comeback.
He added: "Hopefully the draw will give the players confidence because the crowd once again were fantastic.
"They were so much onside and gave their support being our 12th man. If we can keep that again for another 28 games at least we give ourselves a chance.
"I think we sent the fans home happy. If I was a neutral watching that game I wouldn't have been too unhappy with what I was seeing."
