Before half-time, the Spain international turned to his team-mates at a set piece, gesturing that they were sleeping during the 2-1 defeat, Chelsea's ninth in the Premier League this season.
But Carragher said on Monday Night Football: "There's nothing worse than a player coming back and telling other people what they shouldn't do, considering he's been asleep all season."
