Roy Hodgson admits a feeling of anxiety remains around the club despite their 2-0 win against Fulham

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson believes his side face more relegation anxiety despite a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fulham.

A Luka Milivojevic penalty and a late Jeffrey Schlupp strike saw Palace move four points clear of the relegation zone which also compounded Fulham's misery in the bottom three.

Although Hodgson said he was "satisfied" with the result, he acknowledged there were more nervous games ahead in the Eagles' fight for survival.

"It was a very important three points but it won't be the first of these games," Roy Hodgson said.

"There will be other big games and there is a lot of anxiety around the club - you feel it around the ground with the fans and the players.

"If we had maybe taken a few chances in previous games then we perhaps might not be in this position but we are and that's where we will stay for a while.

"Games like today are very satisfying, they are hard fought and not given to you so when the final whistle blows everyone should be happy with it."

Hodgson also agreed with opposite number Claudio Ranieri that the award of a 25th-minute penalty for his side was the turning point in the encounter.

"The penalty changed the game and I can understand Claudio's frustrations," Hodgson added.

"But we took advantage of it and played much better in the second-half - it took awhile but the second goal came and it was a big relief."
