Boot fits nicely for Port Vale

Goalkeeper Ryan Boot is the latest Port Vale youngster to pen new terms at Vale Park.

The 20-year-old, yet to make his senior bow for the Valiants, follows defender Nathan Smith in signing a two-year deal, while fellow stopper Sam Johnson also recently agreed a 12-month extension. Speaking about Boot, who was on loan with non-league Worcester last term, boss Rob Page told the club's official website: "We're very pleased to have Ryan signed up for the next two years. "His progress over the last 18 months has been brilliant and he will only get better given time. "He is still very young for a goalkeeper but already we have seen glimpses of the player we could have on our hands."
