AFC Wimbledon have completed the signing of free agent midfielder Jake Reeves.
The 21-year-old joins the Dons for a second time after a brief loan spell in 2012 where he made five appearances. Manager Neal Ardley has expressed his delight at the signing, claiming the club fought off interest from four League One sides. "I was aware of the deal that he was on at Swindon and when he wasn't getting as many games as he would have hoped for I got straight on to his agent, who told me Jake was considering leaving," Ardley told the official club website. "Four League One clubs tried to sign Jake and they all threw their hats in the ring once they heard Jake was going to be available. "He's going to be a great addition and I'm delighted." Reeves made 34 appearances for Brentford between 2011 and 2014 before moving on to Swindon last summer. However, after turning out just 12 times so far this season he left the County Ground in December once his contract expired. "He should have played around 100 games by now, but we will give him that platform here," Ardley added. "He has an edge to him, he can see a pass and his technique is very good. I think he is better than this level, but we just need to get him up to speed. I think the fans will really like him."
