Newport are closing in on a permanent deal for Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Day.
The 24-year-old enjoyed a 93-day loan stay with the Exiles and since his return last month County have moved to agree a deal with the League One side. "I don't foresee any problems, everything is ticking along nicely," boss Justin Edinburgh told the South Wales Argus. "We are hoping that we will be able to make an announcement on Joe and maybe give our fans a nice little Christmas present. "We are close to having everything agreed and then can crack on with the paperwork. "We've structured a deal with Peterborough so we haven't got to pay a large amount up front, we can structure it over the course of Joe's contract."
