Jay Lynch has been released by Accrington just days after he posted a message on Twitter appearing to bemoan his lack of chances.
The League Two club confirmed that the 21-year-old ex-Bolton goalkeeper, who had been at the Store First Stadium on non-contract terms, had departed the club after just two appearances. He started the 2-2 draw with Luton due to Luke Simpson's suspension but was left out of the squad on Tuesday night against Carlisle, with QPR loanee Joe Lumley preferred by James Beattie in the past two fixtures. Hours before the midweek loss to Carlisle, Lynch wrote on his Twitter account: "What a funny game football is.. Talent counts for nothing nowadays, it's all politics & finances." Elsewhere, Stanley have also announced John Townson has replaced Paul Lodge as the club's new first-team coach.
