Matt finished for the season

Fleetwood have been rocked by the news that striker Jamille Matt will likely miss the entire 2014-15 season with a leg injury.

Matt, a record signing for the Cod Army when he joined in January 2013, sustained the problem in a friendly against Partick and it is serious enough for manager Graham Alexander to admit it is unlikely he will play this term. Alexander, who signed both Adam Campbell and Stephen Dobbie on loan deals on Thursday to compensate for the loss of Matt, told the club's official website: "Unfortunately, Jamille picked up an injury in the last minute of last weekend's game, and since then we've found out that we've probably lost him for the season. "It's devastating news for Jamma first and foremost because he was looking really positive going into the season and we had really high hopes for him this year. I'm equally as devastated for him as well and so are the team because he was going to be a big player for us. "We have to get our heads around this disappointment and Jamille does too, but when he does come back I know he'll be fit and strong and raring to go again."
