Oldham Athletic have signed former Bury and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Mike Jones.
Jones, who began his career with Tranmere, has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Latics. The 26-year-old becomes manager Lee Johnson's second new acquisition of the summer after Joseph Mills also agreed a two-year deal with the Sky Bet League One club last week. Jones has spent the last two years at Crawley, making 90 appearances and scoring five goals for the West Sussex side. He told Oldham's official website: "I'm very excited about the prospect of what could be happening here next season. The manager is very ambitious and I'm excited to get started. "His enthusiasm to get me into the club was one of the reasons why I signed for the club. He sees me as a central player and he thinks he can improve my game so hopefully we can give it a good go next year and be up there. "I want to excite the fans and give Oldham a good season next year. I want to score goals, get assists and make things happen."
