Wilder rues double injury blow

Oxford captain Jake Wright faces a month on the sidelines with a hamstring problem picked up in the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Gateshead.

Wright's injury is a further blow to U's boss Chris Wilder, who will also be without Alfie Potter for a further four weeks. The winger was expected to be out for eight weeks with damaged ankle ligaments, but now needs an operation. "We were hoping, as Jake came off straight away, he might only be out for two weeks, but it will be four," Wilder told the club's official website. "Alfie goes in for an operation (on Thursday) to strengthen the ligaments in his ankle and will now be out for 12 weeks rather than the eight which was first diagnosed. They are obviously both big blows for us."
