A spectacular opening ceremony featuring stars from the world of music will launch Formula 1’s inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix next month.
Andra Day, Bishop Briggs, J Balvin, Journey, Keith Urban, Steve Aoki, Swedish House Mafia, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and will.i.am are all set to perform on Wednesday November 15.
All 20 drivers will be in attendance at the ceremony as well along with an expected 30,000 crowd as Formula 1 seeks to make a big impact ahead of the night-time race in the city.
"For the first-ever Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix, it was important for us to create an opening ceremony that balances the spirit of Las Vegas with the global excitement that Formula 1 and these incredible drivers bring to each host city," Renee Wilm, Las Vegas Grand Prix CEO, said.
"We are proud to be able to work with the very best in the entertainment production space to offer one of the most diverse line-ups of beloved musical superstars, which will officially launch the race week festivities."
The show will kick off with an immersive display celebrating F1's arrival in Las Vegas, followed by each artist's performance which pays tribute to the city's history in entertainment and concluding with team and driver introductions.
Along with musical performances, there will be appearances by Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil, with the ceremony set against the backdrop of the iconic Las Vegas Strip on what will be the starting grid for the race.
The show will be complemented by a state-of-the-art lighting display with 1,000 lights and 100 lasers, fireworks and a drone show.
