Lewis Hamilton v Sebastian Vettel: The tale of the tape

We'll let Joshua v Klitschko be the major event on Saturday; But on Sunday, our money is on another F1 heavyweight clash kicking off...

Tale of the Tape - Lewis Hamilton v Sebastian Vettel

While a certain heavyweight boxing clash is taking top billing on Saturday night, F1 is set for another riveting heavyweight fight this weekend.

It may not have the physical clout of Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko, but Sebastian Vettel v Lewis Hamilton is measuring up to be just as powerful as the Mercedes and Ferrari drivers prepare go to head to head for victory in Sochi - and for the world championship.

After three rounds of 2017, the pair are clear at the top of the standings but separated by just seven points after wins for Vettel in Bahrain and Australia compared to Hamilton's solitary victory in China.

The prospect of a straight fight between Hamilton and Vettel has been a long time coming.

They are the 2017 grid's most successful drivers, but Hamilton and Vettel have still never yet finished first and second to each other in the same Drivers' Championship after 10 seasons apiece in F1.

And that's despite winning six of the last seven championships between them.

It's a heavyweight clash in everything but literal description…
