Steady showers are forecast throughout Sunday in Shanghai where Lewis Hamilton, a master in the rain, will be looking to convert pole position into his first win of the season. The race gets underway at 7am UK time, exclusively live on Sky Sports F1.
But will Max Verstappen be able to use his skills in the wet to come from the back of the grid? The Red Bull driver produced "one of the best ever performances in Formula 1 history" at last year's Brazilian GP - the sport's last wet race.
The teenager swept past world champion in-waiting Nico Rosberg round the outside of Turn Three midway through the race before recovering from being 15th with 10 laps remaining to finish third.
Hamilton meanwhile laid his claim to be F1's rain master back in 2008 as he produced a stunning drive to win his first British GP, finishing over a minute ahead of the rest of the field.
And who can forget Jenson Button's performance at the 2011 Canadian GP? The Brit pitted five times, suffered a drive-through penalty and was last with 30 laps remaining but came through the field to claim victory.
Arguably Michael Schumacher's greatest-ever victory was his first for Ferrari at a soaking Barcelona in 1996 as he finished 45 seconds clear with a fastest lap 2.2 seconds quicker than anyone else.
Ayrton Senna meanwhile was in a league of his own in the rain at Donnington in 1993 as he jumped from fourth to first on the opening lap before lapping everyone but Sky F1's Damon Hill on the way to victory by 83 seconds.
