Sauber's Marcus Ericsson has been passed fit to race in the British GP following his heavy crash in practice at Silverstone.
The Swede was taken to hospital for 'routine check-ups' after the accident at Silverstone. He was released after being given the all clear and has returned to the Northamptonshire track on Saturday evening.
After passing an FIA medical test on Sunday morning, Ericsson will start the race from the pitlane.
The accident occured when, travelling at around 130mph, Ericsson ran wide at the exit of Stowe and onto the green Astroturf, unsettling his car to such an extent that the out-of-control Sauber was pitched across the track and into the tyre wall.
The impact was so severe that the steering wheel of Ericsson's car broke off the dashboard after it slammed into the side of the barriers.
The session was red-flagged for over 10 minutes while Ericsson was attended to by track officials and the Silverstone marshals repaired the tyre barriers.
