Yinsu Collins casts an eye over the past week, as rapper Drake and Twitch streamer Ninja set new records.

Match of the Week: Team SoloMid v Golden Guardians

Team Solomid destroyed Golden Guardians in the North America League of Legends Championship Series on Saturday.

It was a game that TSM absolutely had to win in order to stand a chance to make it to the playoffs. It also meant that promising side Counter Logic Gaming would be eliminated from playoff contention.

Soren 'Bjergsen' Bjerg, TSM's reputable mid laner was a man on a mission, finishing with a perfect KDA of 7/0 after picking up first blood on Ryze.

In just 28 minutes, TSM turned their season around and went on to crush CLG 24 hours later.

Finishing the week undefeated, TSM were left in a four-way tie at 11-9 with Cloud9, Clutch Gaming and Team Liquid.

After overcoming Clutch and Liquid with another perfect KDA for Bjergsen, TSM secured third place meaning they'll face Clutch again for a shot in the semis against Echo Fox.

Drake and Ninja set records on Twitch

On March 15th, Twitch streamer Ninja paired up with rapper Drake on his Fortnite stream and broke the record for most concurrent viewers on an individual's channel.

Nearly 650,000 people tuned in to watch the pair team up on Fortnite before being joined by Travis Scott and NFL wide-receiver Juju Smith-Schuster.

Ninja, a former Halo pro player, exploded onto the Twitch scene and broke a stream of records such as all-time subscribers at 180,000 and 3.5million followers.

Drake revealed on stream that he has been playing Fortnite for a couple months and found it helped him relax between recording sessions.

York Showdown

University of York's Fragsoc held their first annual instalment of the 'York Showdown' Dota tournament on the weekend.

Four teams, University of Kent, Cambridge, York and Sheffield battled it out to be crowned the champion of Dota.

Kent and Cambridge overcame Sheffield and York to face off in the finals and with a score of 2-0, Cambridge triumphed to become the first team to take the title.

Rafee Jenkins, the event's organiser said: "It was fantastic! We definitely have started something awesome."

Fragsoc also raised nearly £300 for the charity SpecialEffect through the event.

First UK Dota 2 Major record ticket sales

ESL confirmed that Birmingham will host UK's first ever Dota 2 Major in May.

The event will take place in Arena Birmingham which has a capacity of 15,000.

More than 1,000 tickets were sold in the first five minutes of release and became the fastest selling ESL Dota Major of all time.

The tournament, which is one of three contests before The International 8, will see 12 of the world's best Dota 2 teams fight it out for a prize pool of $1million [£719,000].
