Peter Wright posted the second highest television average in Premier League victory and then insisted it should have been even better.
Snakebite registered a match average of 119.50, the second highest ever in televised darts, checking in just behind Michael van Gerwen's 123.40 in the Premier League last year.
MVG, absent in Exeter through injury, had darts for an average of more than 130 in that match and Wright himself was in a position to have clocked up more than 120 against Lewis, as he put the afterburners on from the sixth leg.
With the match all square at 2-2, Wright reeled off four legs in just 46 darts, including two 11 and two 12 darters and a spectacular 125 finish.
Such is the standard these days, like Van Gerwen before him, Wright was delighted but felt he could have done even better
"It felt like a bucket, the darts were just going," he told Sky Sports.
"It could have been higher! I kept filling up the treble 20 with two darts but Aidy had started fantastic, going 180, 180 so it was a great match to play in.
"I saw my average at 117 on the big screen and I wanted to get it higher but I think there's loads of improvement to come. Michael van Gerwen's the man to beat, he's immense and it's an honour to be chasing him at the moment."
Snakebite was quick to pay tribute to Lewis, both men hit five 180s in a high-quality affair, but Wright's 70 per cent finishing as well as a 10-5 lead in the 140 count proved crucial.
Facing a possible nine-darter from Lewis in the opening leg of the match, Snakebite kept pace to pinch the leg in 12-darts with a couple of 180s of his own and went on to register the win that take him second in the table.
"I'm so happy just to get the two points but to play so well is brilliant," said Wright.
"Adrian's fantastic and he played brilliantly last week against Michael van Gerwen and hit a nine-darter at the weekend so I knew it would be tough."
Sky Sports expert Wayne Mardle added his own words of praise on a memorable night
"The 123 from Michael last year was mind boggling but that performance from Peter as well was nearly just as good," Mardle said.
"He missed two darts at double top otherwise it would have been more than 120, but Peter played that well because he had to, so a word for Adrian Lewis.
"The first leg set the tone, Adrian starting with two 180s then misses the nine-darter so Peter had to counteract that, and when Adrian missed Peter won the leg.
"After that they both settled into a fabulous rhythm. We have heard Peter say so many times, when he is shooting 106/107 averages that he can do so much better - well now I believe him."
