Michael Clarke will end his stellar international career after the fifth Investec Ashes Test.
The 34-year-old has scored 28 tons in his 114 Tests to date, a tally only bettered for the Baggy Greens by Ricky Ponting (41), Steve Waugh (32), Matthew Hayden (30) and Sir Don Bradman (29).
So, ahead of Clarke’s curtain call at The Oval, check out the video above for highlights of the right-hander’s finest knocks for his country, with more than a few of them coming against England!
Clarke’s best innings include:
- Scoring 151 on debut against India in Bangalore in 2004, the then-23-year-old combatting Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh while putting on 167 with Adam Gilchrist for the sixth wicket
- His maiden century in Australia, a 200-ball 141 versus New Zealand at The Gabba helping the Baggy Greens to a thumping innings victory over their Antipodean rivals
- Clarke ending a two-year century drought with two of them in Australia’s whitewash of England in 2006-07, the middle-order master notching 124 in Adelaide and 135no in Perth
- The New South Wales batsman’s back-to-back double hundreds in the home series with South Africa in 2012, Clarke ending the three-match series with an average of 144
- Clarke’s one and only Test ton at the Melbourne Cricket Ground – which came against Sri Lanka in 2012 – and the two he secured on his home track, the Sydney Cricket Ground, including a career-best 329no versus India
