Alex Hales has withdrawn from his Indian Premier League stint with Kolkata Knight Riders due to bubble fatigue.
The 33-year-old has spent the past four months overseas in restrictive bio-bubbles, in the Big Bash and Pakistan Super League, and has decided to protect his mental wellbeing.
Hales tested positive for Covid-19 in Australia and withdrew from the PSL before later re-joining the tournament.
He will now spend time at home to recover and prepare for the English domestic season.
"Having spent the last four months away from home in restrictive bio bubbles and having tested positive for Covid myself in Australia, I don't feel as though I can commit myself to another extended period within a secure environment," said Hales.
