West Indies spinner Samuel Badree has been ruled out of the entire Indian Premier League campaign through injury.

The 35-year-old was due to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore but the wrist and shoulder injuries he suffered in the World Twenty20 final will rule him out.

Badree was hurt late in the England innings trying to catch a shot from Liam Plunkett at short third man and had to be helped off the field in obvious pain.

The Challengers have replaced him with South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, who took 11 wickets while playing for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League.

Challengers coach Allan Donald said: "Meet our new mysterious spinner. He has arrived from Johannesburg this morning. Yet to get to know him a lot better but I've seen him bowl for the Titans.

"He is very successful with what he's done in the past couple of years, so I think Dan Vettori has made a good buy for us. So, look out for a lot of mystery balls in there!"
