Sri Lanka call all-rounder Farveez Maharoof into one-day squad

Sri Lanka have called all-rounder Farveez Maharoof into their squad for one-day series against England and Ireland.

Maharoof, who played the last of his 104 ODIs against Bangladesh in March 2012, has earned his international recall after impressing in Sri Lanka's List A competition - the Premier Limited Over Tournament - as the leading wicket-taker.

The 31-year-old's fellow all-rounder Danushka Gunathilaka, batsman Upul Tharanga, leg-spinner Seekkuge Prasanna and off-spinner Suraj Randiv will also join the squad for the one-dayers.

Some Test specialists are set to return home after the third Test against England at Lord's but it has not been specified yet which players will depart.

Sri Lanka are set to play Ireland on June 16 and 18, before the five-match series against England starts at Trent Bridge on June 21, followed by a Twenty20 International in Southampton on July 5.

The tourists will be without spinner Rangana Herath, who has retired from limited-overs cricket, and injured fast bowlers Dhammika Prasad and Dushmantha Chameera.
