Michael Clarke will bow out of Test cricket after the fifth and final Ashes Test, we take a look back at his career.

Michael Clarke played his final Test for Australia at The Oval, as he now bows out of international cricket.

Clarke scored just 15 in his final innings to end a sorry series with the bat, scoring only 132 runs across nine innings at an average of 16.50.

But he did see his side to an innings and 46 run win in his final Test to bow out on a high note, despite losing the Ashes 3-2.

Watch as Michael Clarke is given a guard of honour by the England team as the Australian captain makes his way to the middle in his final Test at The Oval.

The Verdict paid tribute to the departing captain with a collection of his finest moments in a baggy green in the video above. And here's what two of the panel, ex-Australian all-rounder Tom Moody, and former England fast-bowler Bob Willis had to say on Clarke's career...

Moody: "You can't judge him on his last handful of Tests. Clarke was a very good player, with 28 hundreds, averaging just short of 50, and there were a lot of match-winning hundreds in there.

"That's how you should really measure a batsman. Runs that really affect the outcome of games, he did that plenty of times."

"There was mixed emotions with the Australian public – he constantly fought that – they fell in love and out of love with him just as quickly. But he still will be thought of very highly though as a captain and a batsman."

Tom Moody says people should ‘let the dust settle’ on Michael Clarke’s retirement.

Willis: "It was always great to see him come charging down the pitch as soon as a spinner came on, where most people in the world would get stuck in their crease.

"Brilliant use of his feet, very quick-footed, but also to pace – the 161 he scored against South Africa in Cape Town in 2014 epitomised him, he got a peppering early on and to fight through that, against that bowling attack, and come out the other side was truly remarkable.

"Clearly the Philip Hughes tragedy took a lot out of Michael Clarke. To lose a close buddy in those circumstances is a really terrible experience to go through."
