Smith roared after completing his second Test double hundred - both of them coming against England, the other at Lord's in 2015 - but Marsh's first century probably topped it, with the all-rounder achieving the feat on his home ground, with his brother, Shaun, on the Australia balcony and his father, Geoff, watching from the stands.
Marsh, the 101st Australian to score a ton against England, backed up the selectors' faith, having been preferred to Peter Handscomb for this Test, principally due to the fact he gave Smith a fifth bowling option. Marsh only bowled nine overs in England's first innings but flourished with the bat.

The 26-year-old, who has struck 29 boundaries from his 234 deliveries, reached three figures in his 36th innings for his country and he'll now be eyeing a double on day four as Australia hunt a mammoth lead.
Smith has scored 18 centuries in his last 37 Tests - only Don Bradman, with 22, has scored more centuries in a span of 37 Tests.
